Fierce battle on 2 fronts
Real Madrid and Zinedine Zidane in particular, have been highly criticized throughout the whole season for the inconsistency in the performance of the team. Despite the constant critics, Real Madrid is still involved in the battle for the title and the Champions League race. Eden Hazard, Sergio Ramos and Dani Carvajal will not be available for the 1st leg.
Revival at Liverpool
The current season could have been one of the worst for Liverpool in recent years. But despite the pessimistic predictions and the numerous injury problems, Liverpool still has a big chance to finish in the top 4 in the Premier League and to qualify for the semi-finals of the Champions League. The Reds are getting into the game with boosted confidence after a strong 0-3 victory over Arsenal.
Final thoughts
Both teams have been in good forms, so searching for a final winner will be very difficult. Usually, the first legs are played in a very cautious manner but both teams offer some vulnerabilities in defence especially Liverpool. Seeing goals on both nets is very likely to happen.
