It is the 2nd day of World Cup 2022 Qualifiers in March. Tonight at 19:45 GMT 0 at Estadio Los Cármenes in Granada, Spain hosts Greece in an intriguing game from Round B which also involves the teams of Sweden, Georgia and Kosovo.

Spain – a main favourite

There is no doubt that Spain is the strong favourite for winning this group and qualify directly to the World Cup finals in Qatar. The squad of Luis Enrique may not include Xavi, Iniesta, David Villa or Gerrard Pique but still remains solid and promising. The U21 team that won the previous U21 EURO in the 2019 tournament brought some immense talents like Dani Olmo, Mikel Oyazabal, Fabian Ruiz, Dani Ceballos, Marc Roca, Mikel Merino into the current squad. Most of them are already key players for their clubs and national team.

Decent performance in Nations League

It had not been long ago when Greece had been trying to reach the bottom-line with all efforts. Fortunately, the time when teams like the Faroe Islands used to beat Greece is gone and currently, there has been a definite improvement in the performance of the team. Greece went unbeaten in their group in the UEFA Nations League and showed that the team is capable of achieving more.

Despite the past glorious days of Greece, we think that Spain is the strong favourite for winning this game. Considering the presence of Sergio Ramos at the back and a ball possession of around 70-80%, Spain is unlikely to concede a goal either.
